Comcater has been behind the scenes in helping to bring many “dream kitchens” to life for over 30 years.

Comcater’s Major Projects and Specification division specialises in assisting clients, architects and kitchen designers to choose the right equipment for any commercial kitchen fit-out. Their latest work is showcased in the ultra modern Hilton Hotel in Surfers Paradise. With an array of impressive restaurants and bars located within the complex, Comcater’s equipment range can be seen in the hotel’s main kitchens, The Food Store – European style delicatessen, as well as celebrity Chef Luke Mangan’s much anticipated Salt Grill restaurant.

Comcater worked alongside Foodservice Development International (FDI) who provided the foundations of the project with their professionally designed kitchen plans. Comcater worked closely with Jim Dartnell from FDI and advised on the equipment specifications to best suit the demands of this benchmark project. Then teaming up with Dave Trevaskis from T&H Sheet Metal in Brisbane for the project’s final finishing touches.

There is a significant amount of planning involved in the design of a commercial kitchen fit-out, a myriad of strategic decisions take place often months and even years before the chef can begin his craft. That’s what Comcater mean when they say they are “behind every great menu”.
