AWARD-WINNING BARTENDER MOVES INTO NORTHERN BEACHES

Former Public House Management Group Operations Manager Kurtis Bosley has taken over ownership of Dee Why’s successful beachside restaurant ‘Twenty Four’. The deal was brokered byKnight Frank’s Kate MacDonald, Senior Sales Executive, Hotels & Pubs, NSW.

Located at 24 The Strand, on the Northern end Dee Why Beach’s retail strip, Twenty Four was onceknown as ‘Aubergine’ and has enjoyed local success for some years. After many months searching for an appropriate business to utilise his award-winning drinks knowledge and skill, Mr Bosley fell in love with the venue.

“I've been searching for a space that would allow me to create a European Inspired, neighbourhood eatery and operative bar. The general vibe of Twenty Four plays right into this with its location overlooking the beach, and relaxed and inviting culture around the area.

“Our goal for the rebrand is to bring an authentic perspective of what we understand a hospitality space to be, with regards to bringing people together and looking after them. Key to the development of this is to focus our attention on great coffee, brunch and cocktails.

I've felt for some time the market is missing a great brunch spot on the beaches and somewhere to enjoy cocktails after dinner through till 12am. As such we will be welcoming guests from 9am-12am daily.”

Ms MacDonald said they were approached by the owner of Twenty Four off the back of another Dee Why sale late last year.

“Following our sale of Deck Bar & Dining late last year, we were approached by the owner of Twenty Four who had decided to return to the corporate world. We were delighted to obtain a good result for our vendor, and assist a quality hospitality professional such as Kurtis with the purchase of his first venture. We have no doubt that he will prosper at this stunning location.

“We are continuing to see growing interest in Dee Why due to its proximity to Sydney CBD and Manly, particularly following the introduction of the B-Line bus which provides a convenient direct connection to the CBD. Meriton’s Lighthouse will deliver over 350 apartments upon delivery, in addition to retail and commercial space, which will see Dee Why continue to thrive.”
