BISTRO MANLY

A Parisienne style eatery with a beachfront backdrop

Beachfront venue, Bistro Manly, has officially opened its doors offering the Northern Beaches a casual eatery with a dash of French flair. The renovated space has a contemporary, laidback elegance with a refreshing coastal feel and serves as the perfect seaside events location.

Located at 55 N Steyne, situated on the ground floor of the Novotel Sydney Manly Pacific, Bistro Manly takes residence adjacent to Japanese street-style favourite, Daniel San. With its spectacular beachfront location, Bistro Manly offers diners an exciting new food offering and event location, while the hotel offers extensive and flexible meeting spaces with ocean views, a rooftop pool with panoramic views, a modern fitness centre and access to the best of Manly, while still being within easy reach of Sydney.

“The Novotel Sydney Manly Pacific offers a beachside location for travellers and locals alike to come and enjoy. Whether it’s a stay at the hotel, hosting a corporate function, dining in or grabbing a drink at Bistro Manly, we can facilitate.” – Dylan Cole, General Manager Novotel Manly Pacific

Executive head chef Ryan Dawson (prev. Cottage Point Inn, Sugar Palm Restaurant Palm Beach) and sous chef Toshi Ishihara (prev. Macleay Street Bistro, Cottage Point Inn) have curated a modern French-brasserie style menu featuring the beloved classics whilst using quality Australian produce including fresh local seafood.

“With Bistro Manly, we have combined fantastic Australian produce with classic French cooking techniques to create a refreshing and honest menu. I am thrilled to be able to offer this type of dining experience in such an iconic place as Manly Beach,” said Executive Head Chef Ryan Dawson.

Bianca Isgro from Isgro Studios, who previously worked on the Paddo Inn, Darlo Bar and neighbouring Daniel San restaurant, has completely revamped the much-loved local venue that was once home to Zali’s Restaurant into a beautiful naturally light-filled space. The 90-seater dining room with décor signature of the French capital has large sliding doors that can be opened in the warmer months for seaside alfresco dining.

The bright and breezy dining room resembles a European style brasserie with elegant marble accents, artwork filled walls and pops of pink hues in the cosy booth seating making for the perfect dinner date or long lunch setting, with private dining spaces available for group bookings and events.

Bistro Manly can be hired exclusively for events or booked for smaller gatherings, the restaurant offers seating for up to 90 guests. Bistro Manly’s private dining area seats 40 guests and is the perfect setting for an event or soirée and for intimate gatherings.

“The restaurant is able to be partially sectioned off especially for private events. The private events section flows into the outdoor area, adding the option of having an alfresco bar area available for your guests to enjoy a cocktail in.” – Dylan Cole, General Manager Novotel Manly Pacific

Bistro Manly caters to all size events and provides a banquet menu, served platter style or an à la carte menu with a perfect selection of dishes catering to smaller groups. Diners can graze on a selection of French inspired entrées or indulge in a main meal, with the line caught snapper or a 120-day dry aged beef sirloin with classic café de Paris butter and many other options available. Bistro Manly’s dessert menu will also have diners saying ‘Oui Oui’ to a sweet treat with a classic crème brûlée or a delectable apple tarte tatin with vanilla ice cream.

The cocktail list covers off the best of the classics with the complimenting wine list featuring a mixture or French and local Australian wineries including Shaw + Smith (SA), Farr Rising (VIC), Tolpuddle (Tas), and Torbreck (SA).

The bar menu is perfect for those after a more casual affair or to wind down from the work week. Enjoy the decadent charcuterie board or classic crispy school prawns in the dining room or the open-air courtyard that looks out onto Manly Beach.

With the warmer month’s fast approaching, Bistro Manly is the perfect venue to host end of year celebrations and indulge in some casual French style hospitality.
