The city of Memphis will soon have a new kind of ‘curfew,’ with the home of blues, soul, and rock n’ roll to welcome the luxury Canopy Memphis Downtown hotel, and a separate dining concept within, Curfew Memphis.
Slated to open its doors this month (September, 2020) the new flagship hotel will boast 174 guest rooms with pet friendly room options available. Canopy Memphis Downtown will also offer a fitness centre, amazing events spaces, and meeting rooms. The newly built hotel will be located on Union Avenue in Downtown Memphis, directly across from the popular AutoZone Park. It will also be situated in close proximity to popular Memphis sites such as Graceland, the FedEx Forum Arena, Memphis Music Hall of Fame and the Mississippi River.
Curfew Memphis is a new dining concept that forms part of the Fabio Viviani Hospitality Group, and is slated to open its doors on 8 September 2020, in the Canopy Memphis Downtown hotel. The new restaurant will occupy the main floor lobby of the hotel, and will undoubtedly bring a unique dining concept to Memphis, offering a fusion between a prominent sports bar and American tavern.
One of the new restaurant owners is local celebrity chef and restaurateur Fabio Viviani, best known as a previous contestant on US reality TV show Top Chef. Guests who visit can expect and elevated dining experience, with a menu that reflects classic American food with a Spanish and Italian twist – a combination that is set to put the venue on the must-visit lists of locals and travellers alike. The offering will include a small bite menu with everything from burgers, wings and hush puppies, to more modern elements and larger entrees such as, 16-ounce rib eye steak and house Andouille - all complimented with local beer, craft cocktails and amazing wine.
The opening of both the Canopy Memphis Downtown hotel and Curfew Memphis is a welcome example of this great southern city pushing forward during these difficult times. The city of Memphis continues to position itself as trending and popular destination for future international travellers, and, along with new hospitality developments, its global war cry “When you’re ready to rock, we’re ready to roll” continues to give hope to residents and beyond.
