One Moncur claims the honour of being one of Sydney’s first champagne-focused bars and a much-anticipated addition to Woollahra’s growing scene.
Brothers Luke and Jeremy Browne, along with business partner Anthony Rosen, have been the driving force behind the reincarnation of the historic Phoenix Hotel building. The new bar takes many of its design features from the Phoenix’s rich art deco past and graphic designer Henrietta Reed has created a luxe aesthetic with some quirky champagne-inspired elements, including a graphic deco-inspired feature wall.
One Moncur is introducing Sydney to some grower-made, boutique champagnes that rarely feature on lists outside of France. The bar will have a small food offering focusing on quality local produce. Woollahra’s very own Victor Churchill will be providing the charcuterie.
