For the first time, guests at the historic Otahuna Lodge will have the opportunity to book exclusive use of the entire luxury property.

Nestled in the Port Hills of New Zealand’s Canterbury region, Otahuna Lodge is launching its ‘Lord of the Manor’ package whereby 10 guests can have full run of the grand Victorian mansion, its grounds and facilities for a rate of NZ$5,995 per night.

Bookings are available throughout the autumn and winter months and stays include a nightly 5-course degustation dinner matched with New Zealand wines, plus breakfast daily. Depending on the occasion, the Lodge can be exclusively reserved for a single magical night, a leisurely weekend or even a longer sojourn.

Otahuna Lodge, built in 1895 for high profile Canterbury pioneer Sir Heaton Rhodes, is New Zealand’s largest private historic residence and is considered the best example of Queen Anne architecture in Australasia. Guests have a choice of two master suites and a further five suites at their disposal. The expansive, charming gardens and landscape will be reserved exclusively for a single party and can host all from a grand ‘Downton Abbey’ styled event to an intimate gathering of close friends.

“We are very excited to be able to offer this truly unique package to our guests at Otahuna,” says Managing Director Hall Cannon. “This is a great chance for guests to experience what it was like living as Sir Heaton Rhodes did with the comfort and refinements of today.”

The ‘Lord of the Manor’ package will be available from May – September 2014 for the preferential rate of NZ$5,995 per night. Additional guests (up to six) are welcomed at a rate of $500 per person.

Otahuna Lodge is a 30 minute drive from Christchurch, New Zealand and the Christchurch International Airport.
