NO VACANCY IN THE CROSS

No Vacancy

Kings Cross, Sydney

After two and a half years at the creative helm of ivy’s promotions and entertainment, Graham Cordery (director of Experience Entertainment Group) will launch his own boutique venue this October.

With a reputation of working with industry elites, Cordery’s tenure has seen ivy collect the ‘Australia’s Best Entertainment Venue’ award for two years running 2011 – 2012 (AHA Awards). He says of the move, “opening our own venue is the next, natural step”.

No Vacancy will be uniquely positioned as an intimate lounge club:  “We have created a hidden gem removed from the mainstream hustle and bustle; and simply can’t wait to open the doors,” Cordery continues. Details of the venues exact location will be provided closer to the launch, which is set to take place mid-October. This new venture will see Cordery become one of the newest venue operators within the Kings Cross scene.

This exclusive newcomer to the Sydney club scene sits perfectly in the current void between small bar and late nightclub and is inspired by the boutique lounge clubs of Los Angeles: tucked away from the hustle and bustle of its Kings Cross peers, and stylistically rustic, like the interiors of new breed celebrity haunts in L.A.

A vintage “No Vacancy” sign, flickering pink above the doorway has been integrated as a signature piece, setting an inquisitive tone. Inside, candlelight and antique lamps will flicker against exposed brickwork and vintage lounge furnishings. With the addition of a cocktail list accompanied by local and international entertainment, Graham Cordery is confident that No Vacancy’s intimate surrounds will “offer a new standard in Sydney’s Kings Cross club scene”.
