This subterranean grill house and kitchen is a new home for Melbourne’s carnivores as prepared by US native, Gavin Baker.

Signature dishes at Little Hunter focus in on techniques in smoking, curing and refined meat preparation with the use of the kitchen’s imported Josper charcoal oven, one of only three in Australia. The interior is sleek but earthy, reminiscent of a cosy home for animals and with a classy chicken coop in the centre of the room.

Meat from Australia’s finest producers features high on Little Hunter’s agenda; featuring Blackmore’s Flank, Fillet Mignon from Cape Grimm, Robbin’s Island Ribeye and Ranger’s Valley New York Strip. Sustainability and ethical production is a given at Little Hunter. The restaurant sources all produce with the utmost care, supporting artisans and farmers who are committed to organic, natural and humane treatment, and will feature producer-driven menus.
