Australians love a ‘toastie’ so when Giovanni Pilu designed a menu for Taronga Zoo’s newest café he did it with an Italian twist and created the Free-Range Egg, Pancetta & Tomato Panino.

Ladies that lunch enjoy the Salt Baked Salmon Salad with Potato complimented by a glass of Italian Pinot Grigio under the shade of Italian Market umbrellas, while afternoon tea is a café latte and an indulgent darkly rich Florentine or a tangy lemon tart made on-site.

The décor is simple and contemporary. Dark wood shelving offset by industrial white tiles showcase brasserie bread and a wide variety of house-baked cakes, biscuits and pies. Banquettes give a European flavour to the café and look over the beautiful Taronga bushland.

The café is situated at the entrance to the Zoo (so no entry fee) and patrons get 90 minutes free parking. As Taronga Piazza only operates during the day it is also available for functions after 6pm.
